SBCI acquires and lends books, music and movies in more than 30 languages. Library users who have come to Denmark as refugees or immigrants, can borrow books and other materials in their own language at the local library. The library will in turn request it from SBCI, as individuals cannot borrow directly from SBCI, but should go through their local library.

SBCI is also active in the establishing of new school homework cafés at local libraries. SBCI also offers web information for foreign language speakers, primarily through this site, finfo.dk.
